Thomas Litman, the driving force behind OINKD, is a professor of medical bioinformatics at the University of Copenhagen and a distinguished researcher in translational medicine. His expertise covers multiple “omics” fields, including transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, with a focus on applying bioinformatics tools to large datasets for breakthrough discoveries in inflammatory diseases and cancer. He is particularly renowned for his contributions to understanding multidrug resistance in cancer and for his integrative approach to “multi-omics” studies, combining diverse biological data sources to create comprehensive insights.
In addition to his academic and research work, Litman collaborates with industry partners like LEO Pharma, where his research supports innovation in skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. His expertise in applied bioinformatics also extends to teaching and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
